The Gay-Kimball Library is a Public Library made possible by Walter N. Gay’s land donation in 1927 and a bequest from Warren Kimball’s estate in 1945.
Our mission is to meet the recreational and informational needs of the community in a creative, professional, and welcoming manner. The Library will offer diverse resources and provide a community meeting place for people of all ages.

Did you know that we have a treasure trove of WWII letters written from 1942-1944 to Librarian, Annie Clark? The letters were solicited by the Librarian and Library Trustees, George Ripley, A. H. Hanscom and J. T. Hawkins, to keep a record of all the Troy residents who were in the military and where they were stationed. There is a good chance you know some of these folks or their relatives!
Click on the post card below to see all of the letters!
Digital Magazines are Back!
We have Light!
Our new LED lights have been installed (thank you Lumens for Less!) and WOW! It’s like night and day (see what I did there?) in the kid’s area. And no more shadows in the adult fiction & non-fiction. Seriously, you need to come see to believe the difference.
- Tuesday 10am – 7pm
- Wednesday & Thursday 2pm – 7pm
- Saturday 10am – 2pm
We hope this will give everyone more opportunity to fit the Awesomeness that is the Gay-Kimball Library into their busy schedules. We cannot wait to see you even more often!!
