Board of Trustees Meeting

October 1, 2009

Members Present: Kathy Marrotte, Beth Richardson, Evan John; Catherine Callegari, Librarian.

Minutes of September meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer's Report: Checking Account: $2610.00; Fines: $216.00; Petty Cash: $594.00; Memorial Fund: $235.00; Building Fund: $141.00. Grand Total: $3796.00

Librarian's Report: Door Count: 1672; Circulation: 2503; Computer Usage: 267; New Patrons: 17. All stats were up over the 2008 amounts.

Old Business:

Catherine will ask Terry Knowles if we can put the $3,000 we get from the town into a 6 month CD.

Catherine attended the CLIF Conference in Vermont recently and came back with the following ideas:

• Friends of the Library-seeking support and recruits
• Teddy Bear Sleepover
• Event flashcards to help remember events and feedback from them when seeking ideas
• Post a wish list for supplies, products for patrons to donate
• Handouts on library activities: distribute in school throughout the year
• Partner with NCLA to do a Storywalk
• And others.....

There will be a book sorting party on October 6, 6pm to prepare donations for the book sale.

New Business:

Catherine has obtained 2 passes to the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester. She got an anonymous sponsor to donate the $65.00 annual cost.

Catherine has set a goal of 2010 to have the catalog online. The library would need a dynamic, vs. static IP address. She estimates the cost will be about $480.00/year plus setup costs. This is about 1 month's value of book purchases.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 12 at 7pm.
