Board of Trustees Meeting January 8, 2020
Members Present: Peg Rouleau, Kristan Tilton, Rebecca Hackler and Library Director Catherine Callegari
Peg called the meeting to order at 4:31 pm
Peg motioned to accept the December 4, 2019 meeting minutes as written, seconded by Kristan Vote: all in favor
Treasurers Report- Total Library accounts $2631 ($ 5702 )
Checking: $ 1668 Memorial Fund: $ 653 ( Austin $ 3071 )
Fines: $ 76 Petty Cash: $234
Librarian Statistics-
Door count: 671 (871)* Meeting Room Usage: 14 New Patrons: 2
Circulation 1289 Computer usage: 40 Program attendance: 212 (Adults: 40 Children: 172)
*Bridge of Joy event increased the door count to 871
2019 Librarian Statistics-
Door count: 11,306 Meeting Room Usage: 110 Patrons: 1172
Circulation 18,298 Computer usage: 689 Program attendance: 3462
Adults 789, Children 2673, Outreach 1274
Highlights- Activities/ Events
Programming- Puzzle contest
TES Literacy day – Weds 1/14/20
Old Business
• Operating Budget, Library budget, Trust funds – all on target for expenses.
• Building Maintenance – Water fountain purchased to replace the old one
• Holiday Policy- Kristan motioned to accept the updated holiday policy as written. Seconded by Peg. Vote: all in favor.
• TD Bank / Square- Is worth the bank fees to allow the Library the ability to accept credit card payment
New Business
• Town Administrator Joe Byk has been hired, we will invite him to a future meeting once he is settled in
• Fines- Kristan motioned to eliminate overdue material fines for all age groups as discussed, seconded by Peg
o Vote: all in favor. The new policy will be reviewed monthly for effectiveness
• Permanently lost items policy remains the same, the patron is responsible for replacing or paying for the lost item
• Kristan will be contacting Marcy at the Town Hall to run for office for Library Trustee- 3 year term
• Document shared on the top library stories of 2019
