Board of Trustees Meeting August 5, 2020
Members Present: Peg Rouleau, Kristan Tilton, Rebecca Hackler and Library Director Catherine Callegari
Peg called the meeting to order at 4:37 pm
Peg motioned to accept the July 1, 2020 meeting minutes as written, seconded by Kristan Vote: all in favor
Treasurers Report- Total Library accounts $11,319
Checking: $ 7,3,10 Memorial Fund: $ 653 ( Austin $ 3071 )
Fines: $ 77 Petty Cash: $208
Librarian Statistics (open regular hours)
Door count: 600 Meeting Room Usage: 6 Overdues: 44 items by 14 people
Circulation 1,583 Computer usage: 40 Program & Outreach attendance: 218/18
Highlights- Activities/ Events
• CLiF presentation next Monday, 8/10 with summer rec program- 2 free books per child
• Make and take summer craft program received well
• The science fiction, young adult books, fiction and audio are being weeded
Old Business
Budget:
• Operating Budget- Library budget, Trust funds – on target for expenses
Covid:
• Library Covid costs- Masks with clear mouth windows were ordered for the staff to allow for options
• Free disposable face masks are available for the patrons
• Town of Troy accepted Covid grant monies – it is unclear if the Library will receive any
• Entryway pick-up is still offered but has not been used since re-opening
New Business
• New check-in procedure – returned books are listed as in quarantine and not for loan until that is changed to available – this will avoid patrons from receiving overdue reminders for returned items
• Two air purifiers will be ordered for upstairs & down for fall and winter air circulation
• Town of Troy has a new administrator – Mary Guild
• A policy procedure is being researched for staff or patron positive Covid test
• An employee has given their notice as the Library Assistant – review of the description, salary and job posting
• The director will provide the trustees with the salary recommendation and operating budget impacts
