Board of Trustees Meeting May 1, 2019

Jacque called the meeting to order at 4:37 pm
Jacque motioned to accept the April 3, 2019 meeting minutes as written, seconded by Peg Vote: all in favor
Treasurers Report- Total Library accounts $ 18,529
Checking: $ 7633 Memorial Fund: $ 10,653
Fines: $ 64 Petty Cash: $179
Librarian Statistics-
Door count: 907 Meeting Room Usage: 6 New Patrons: 7
Circulation 1,275 Computer usage: 70 Program attendance: 250 ( Adults: 92 Children: 158)
Highlights- Activities/ Events
Both new DVD spinner racks are here and in use
The games and puzzles have been switched around to circulate the inventory
Upcoming events Dan Bisaccio – guided pond walk, and a guided bird walk
6/15, 11am at TES: Summer reading event, an owl presentation by Wingmasters
6/15: 9pm Dan Bisaccio – Owl Walk at The Inn at East Hill Farm
Old Business
• Fun Day and Lunch at the Library was a big success – door count of 133 for the event
• Building Maintenance – Exterior window cleaning will be scheduled
• The GKL website has successfully transitioned to a new host- the site is up and running
• Nature backpacks- Sam’s outfitters is donating the backpack with items for Kindergarten to Grade 6
New Business
• Spring book sale – trustees signed up for shifts scheduled for the evening of May 24 and Saturday May 25th.
• The signature cards at TD Bank need to be updated with current GKL Trustees- Jacque and Peggy will handle
• The Library budget is on target the first 4 months of the year
• Policy discussion- Authority to Spend- Catherine will update with recommendations
• Jacque motioned to accept the $10,000 from the Marion Austin unanticipated funds. Peggy seconded Vote: all in favor
• Pilcrow foundation grant- with matching funds we will be receive 70 children’s books
• Landscaping – Maple Hill Nursery has summitted a quote proposal and will be doing work in June
• Lawn Maintenance – Mark Huntoon and son will be providing the lawn care services
• We were awarded a Children’s Literacy Foundation Summer Readers grant – in August a storytelling event will be held in conjunction with the Troy Rec Summer Program, all attending will receive 2 books to keep.
