Board of Trustees Meeting July 11, 2018

Members Present: Jacque Sendrowski, Charleen Hoefsmit, Rebecca Hackler and Library Director Catherine Callegari

Meeting called to order at 4:00 pm
Motion was made to accept the June 6 and June 30 Trustee meeting minutes as written, seconded and passed – All in favor

Highlights- Activities/ Events
• July Special events “Summer Flyer” shared with the team are some of the highlights:
Tie Dye Saturday July 14th,  Marble Run July 25th,  Books on Tap July 26th
• 30.00 Gift Card donated from Hannaford’s for the Ice Cream Social Wednesday, August 1
• So far in 2018 the Library has received 1,924 in donations- Kudos to Catherine’s networking skills
• New children’s turn and learn magnetic gears are ready for use on the white board

Old Business
Rate of Pay implementation is in the works. Thanks to Inspector Campbell from the Department of Labor Christina, the new Town Administrative Assistant, understands the process and the payroll changes needed to be done.

Library Personnel Policy – group discussion and edits on pages 1-8. Jacque motioned to adopt all changes agreed upon by the group. Motion seconded and passed. All in favor

Group discussion on the Library Director Performance Evaluation forms. Everyone agreed the template provided by Catherine was the most comprehensive choice for the evaluations. Jacque motioned to use that template form for our evaluations. Motioned seconded and passed. All in favor

Group discussion on all of the Library line items on the Library operating budget that are questionable. Catherine has a list of the items of concern. She will share with Christina the Administrative Assistant.

Becky provided copies of the updated Library Director Job Description. Jacque motioned adopt the updated document previously agreed upon by the group. Motion seconded and passed. All in favor

New Business
July 21- the Historical Society is having a craft fair/ Flea market. Jacque will work the Library marketing table from 9am-12pm. Becky will work 12 pm-3pm and Charleen will float between 9-3. Catherine has ideas for the materials. Jacque suggested setting up a donation raffle for the white rocking chair.

Summer Reading Program- enrollment is approximately 61 children, 15 teenagers and 39 adults
Participation and feedback on the program has been overwhelmingly positive.

Valerie Kemp has accepted the position of Library Aide. Catherine provided the Trustees with a current job description for the Library Aide position. Group discussion on the GK Library policy on the probation period and expectations for new hires.
