Board of Trustees Meeting June 5, 2019

Jacque called the meeting to order at 4:33 pm
Jacque motioned to accept the May 1, 2019 meeting minutes as written, seconded by Peg Vote: all in favor
Public Comments: Kristin Tilton commented on the informative updates on facebook regarding Library events
Treasurers Report- Total Library accounts $ 8,438 ( 16,548 )
Checking: $ 7,460 Memorial Fund: $ 653 ( Austin 8,106 )

Door count: 957 Meeting Room Usage: 5 New Patrons: 17

Highlights- Activities/ Events
New DVD spinner rack with DVD’s and puzzles for sale at the entrance area
2 new Adirondack chairs where purchased from the Marion Austin Family Trust
Troy Elementary School class visits- grades K-6 have all visited the Library in May & June
6/15: 11am at TES: Summer reading event, an owl presentation by Wingmasters
6/15: 9pm Dan Bisaccio – Owl Walk at The Inn at East Hill Farm
Old Business
The Library town budget is on track for expenses
The Library May book sale was a success with just under $1,000 in revenue
Building maintenance – painting of the children’s area will begin Saturday 6/8, window cleaning quotes have been accepted
Landscaping – Maple Hill Nursery has been hired to begin work this summer
Summer Reading- a flyer was sent home with all of the TES students for the summer reading program
Read a book get a book, kids bicycle contest, Peg will meet with Catherine on soliciting local gift card donations
Petty Cash policy- Jacque motioned we table until the next meeting in July, seconded by Peg. Vote: all in favor
Alternate Trustee policy- tabled until the next meeting in July
Marion Austin Trust fund: purchase of mini computers, outdoor chairs, summer reading program items and swinger sign
New Business
LED lights will be installed in the circulation area. The lighting being replaced is very old and out of date
Town signboard by the flagpole – Jacque will handle posting the Library events
Book Expo -65 books obtained for 1.11 each which includes some advance reader copies
Veronica Tomasko’s hiring for the Saturday Library aide position was confirmed. Jacque motioned to offer the podition to Veronica. Seconded by Peg Vote: all in favor.
