Board of Trustees Meeting November 7, 2018

Jacque called the meeting to order at 4:06 pm
Jacque motioned to accept the October3, 2018 meeting minutes as written, seconded by Charlene

Highlights- Activities/ Events
Storytime with Shelia started last week – will be held on Saturday mornings
Titanic talks- 30 people attended Will’s presentation in the meeting room. This event will be scheduled annually due to the popularity of the topic and the large collection.
Display case- The Historical Society will be setting up a display of antique toys.
Re-boot of 1,000 books program before Kindergarten will be scheduled in 2019

Old Business
Building Maintenance – the new glass on the front door will be ready for installation around Thanksgiving. The new fire alarm panel- the select board has allocated money from the Town’s building maintenance fund to replace the panel this year.

Library policy update topics discussed- Working remotely, Collection Development Policy, Gifts and Donations, Interlibrary loans

New Business
Narcan nasal spray – option for the Library to keep on hand. However, we must have training and a nurse practitioner sign off on the training. Trustees recommended to pass on this option.

Town Audit Form- the trustees discussed, completed and signed the form to be returned to the Selectmen’s Assistant. Catherine will ensure the form is returned to the Selectmen’s Assistant.

Core business checking account- a letter was received from the TD bank regarding minimum balances and associated fees increasing with some business accounts. Catherine will research further to see if the Library accounts are impacted.

A written request has been submitted to the Select board to add 5000.00 to the Library Expendable Trust account. In the Select board minutes, they agreed to submit the 5000.00 request to be added to the Warrant Article. This request will be voted on by the taxpayers at Town Meeting in March.

An eye wash kit was purchased and is available in the custodian closet.

Catherine provided her vacation days for November and December. Darline Harris has access to the Library Facebook page to post articles on snow day closures or emergency notices.
