PUBLIC HEARING ON FIREWORKS ORDINANCE
Chairman Matson called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
Present: Adam Dubriskie, Chief Ellis, Jon Collins
Chairman Matson read the 2007 Fireworks Ordinance
Jon Collins stated that his concern was that the fireworks will be going off all hours of the night.
Chief Ellis stated that we do have a noise ordinance to deal with after 10:00 pm fireworks.
Chief Ellis stated that when Fire Chief Huntoon was in a month ago the Board discussed not issuing fireworks permits anymore.
Selectmen Bailey stated that on the ordinance we can specify that no fireworks are allowed to be set off after 10:00 pm.
Chairman Matson stated that we should reference the local ordinance
Chief Ellis stated that the ordinance should get rid of the “sale” of fireworks. Selectmen Bailey asked would banning the sale of fireworks make a difference. Selectmen Bailey will make a new draft with the suggestions that were made tonight and forward to the Select Board and the Police Department for review.
